IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 syllabus for all 30 subjects on the official GATE 2025 website. Candidates can now download the GATE 2025 syllabus PDF for their respective branches. The GATE exam is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. It’s crucial for all aspiring candidates to familiarize themselves with the GATE syllabus and exam pattern before filling out the GATE 2025 application form. The syllabus is divided into three main sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and the specific subject chosen during registration. Please note that the GATE 2025 registration process has been postponed. The application forms will now be available from August 28, 2024, and the deadline to submit without a late fee is September 26, 2024. Candidates who miss this deadline can still register until October 7, 2024, by paying a late fee. Those looking to pursue postgraduate programs like MTech or MSc in top institutions such as IITs, NITs, and other GFTIs should carefully review the GATE 2025 syllabus to ensure thorough preparation.
The GATE 2025 exam will cover 30 different subjects. The question paper will consist of 65 questions, totaling 100 marks, including 15 marks for General Aptitude. For paper codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL, 15 marks are allocated for General Aptitude, with the remaining 85 marks focusing on the specific subject. For all other paper codes, the distribution is 15 marks for General Aptitude, 13 marks for Engineering Mathematics, and 72 marks for the specific subject.
To prepare effectively, candidates are advised to solve previous GATE question papers to identify important topics and familiarize themselves with the types of questions typically asked in the exam. Negative marking | For a wrong answer chosen in a MCQ, there will be negative marking. For 1-markMCQ, 1/3mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ and NAT questions. There is no partial marking for any question. |
*PwD candidates with benchmark disability more than 40% are eligible for compensatory time of ONE
hour. PwD candidates with less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing are eligible for
compensatory time subject to production of a certificate as stated in Appendix-I of the guidelines
issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
